COMPETITIVE TEAM SCHEDULE

Tri-Star Teams are a year-long commitment from September 1st through August 31st. The school-year schedule runs from late-August through early-June with a modified summer schedule from June through August (see Summer Camps). Team member’s commit to the full year’s schedule, including participating in a variety of fundraisers throughout the year.

 

Team registration takes place through the Parent Portal.

 

All team members are expected to enroll in our Auto Pay system with the monthly charge assessed on the first Monday of every month to the credit card on file. In addition to monthly tuition charges, additional feeds include (but are not limited to) meet fees, league registration fees, uniform fees, etc.

TEAM LEVEL

DESCRIPTION

GIJO Level 3

Ages 6-10 | 4 Practice Hours Per Week

AAU/GIJO Level 3 is the entry level for our competitive AAU/GIJO Team Program. This program is designed for gymnasts who are ready to transition into competitive gymnastics and continue developing strong compulsory skills, routines, and performance confidence. Students must stay focused during training, demonstrate coachability, develop independence at stations, and build healthy work habits/work ethic as well as demonstrate overall readiness for the expectations fo a competitive program.

*AAU/GIJO gymnasts participate in locally scheduled competitions. Gymnasts follow and compete using USAG compulsory-level routines and skill requirements

GIJO Level 4

Ages 6-10 | 7 Practice Hours Per Week

AAU/GIJO Level  is designed for gymnasts who have developed higher-level skills and demonstrate overall readiness required to advance within our competitive AAU/GIJO Team Program. Level 4 placement is based not only on skill development, but also on a gymnast’s ability to meet the increased expectations of competitive training. Gymnasts should demonstrate focus during practice, coachability, strong work habits and work ethic, the ability to work independently at assigned stations, and consistent effort throughout training.

GIJO Optionals

Ages 11 and up | 7 Practice Hours Per Week

AAU/GIJO Xcel Silver and Gold are designed for gymnasts who have developed higher-level skills and demonstrate overall readiness required to advance within our competitive AAU/GIJO Team Program. GIJO Optional placement is based not only on skill development, but also on a gymnast’s ability to meet the increased expectations of competitive training. Gymnasts should demonstrate focus during practice, coachability, strong work habits and work ethic, the ability to work independently at assigned stations, and consistent effort throughout training.

USAG Team (Levels 4 – 10, Xcel Platinum – Sapphire)

Ages 6 and up | 12 Practice Hours Per Week

The USAG Team provides advanced training and condition in preparation for competition through the USA Gymnastics Developmental Program. Initial placement begins with Level 4 and subsequent advancement through the levels is determined through a combination of coach assessment and formal qualification scores within the USAG league. Gymnasts are expected to demonstrate consistent focus, coachability, strong work habits and work ethic, the ability to work independently at assigned stations, and commitment to the increased expectations of competitive training.

*USAG gymnasts participate in locally scheduled competitions. Gymnasts compete using USAG compulsory-level routines and skill requirements in Levels 4-5 and USAG optional rules and skill requirements for Level 6-10 and Xcel. Additional travel opportunities for participation in state, regional, and national competitions are available at coaches’ discretion and qualification criteria are set at the start of each competitive year.

High School

Ages 14 and up | 6 Practice Hours Per Week

High School Prep training is designed for gymnasts preparing to participate in IHSA high school gymnastics competition. Students must be entering high school or currently enrolled in high school to participate. Training focuses on skill development, routine preparation, consistency, and overall performance on the events required for high school gymnastics.

*Gymnasts train at Tri-Star during their high school non-competitive season, allowing them to continue developing skills and maintain competitive readiness between school seasons.
